Meet the Ambassadors preparing applicants for life at Anglia Ruskin University with CampusConnect!

The last couple of months have been super busy on Anglia Ruskin University CampusConnect. Over 370 students have joined the app and begun chatting, asking questions, and forming valuable connections, with a total of 5457 messages sent in one month! Here to guide them through the process are our ARU CampusConnect Ambassadors. We managed to steal a few of them away from their discussions for a quick introduction…

“As an international student I had to face many hurdles before coming to this country and becoming a student of ARU. But it was much easier when I downloaded ARU Campus connect app. It was then when I decided that, once I start at ARU as a student, I will try and become a CampusConnect ambassador. I’ll help those students who face similar difficulties and be that person who they can approach for any queries and doubts regarding the university and the course. As an international student, getting to know details about a university and a course in a different country is very important because it’s a place that is anonymous for us. The more information you get, the more it will become familiar and easier for you. So as a CampusConnect Ambassador I vow to help each and every student who approaches me to best of my ability and make the campus more friendly for them.”

“Helping others is in my nature. When I was doing my university application, I was also worried about things like the course and how to find accommodation. I will be happy to share my experiences and resolve the queries of incoming students. If I have helped you succeed, I am happy.”

Becky, MSc Information and Communication Technology

“Basically, I am a geek girl and love communicating so much. I have been doing research about bio-medical engineering for ten years in Thailand as Research Assistant position. After that, I changed my life to study abroad. I love running and love smiling as my unique behaviours! I also love to share information and I’m passionate about breaking language barriers! While I was studying at ARU, I really loved the life and study, even whilst isolating during the pandemic. I haven’t been back home in almost two years and I have a lot of experience to share. Fortunately, the great opportunity to be an Ambassador came up, to support and help the new starters to be ready and smart with study and life abroad. I really love to help and support with education as best I can!”

Robin, MSc International Business with Placement Year

“I have over 6 years of experience as a Senior Marketing Officer, Senior Marketing Executive, and Business Development Executive, with excellent communication skills. I’ve dealt with customers in the education industry and have a degree in Business Administration from Osmania University. I have also been elected as international students Rep for Cambridge campus in recent election. These experiences led me to volunteer as student Ambassador in CampusConnect as part of the International Office for the September intake. As a student ambassador I am here to help, and want students to reach out me with their doubts before they start their journey to ARU.”

With a range of personal and professional experience, these Ambassadors are well-equipped to welcome and advise ARU’s offer holders. We know they’ll do a great job in reassuring incoming students that ARU’s university community is the place for them!
